If anyone has ever played the video game then you know how cool this character is. I was prepared
for a great adaptation of the video game and I was somewhat disappointed. Don’t get me wrong, the Hitman played by Timothy Olyphant looked exactly like the character in the video game, but for some reason he just didn’t pull it off all the time. I don’t blame the actor on this one. The director should have gotten more out of his actor. When he was supposed to be cold hearted, he should have been a little more than he portrayed.
The writing was so-so. The plot was good, but it didn’t flow as well as it should have. It seems as though they just threw something together and expected it to make money on the sheer following of the game and how cool they made the trailer look.
The choreography of the hand to hand combat fight scenes were hard to watch because the camera was moving so frantically in an attempt to convey excitement. Instead I became nauseated. If they would have followed the blueprint of any one of the Jason Bourne movies, they would have been successful. Train the actor how to fight just a little bit. He was decent with the guns though, but there clearly was not enough time in the budget for combat training.
Better than the trailer: No
Best Part: The Trailer or the after dinner scene with that beautiful Russian chick! As Borat would say: “Very niice. How much?”
Worst Part: The direction

I have yet to see this movie but I pretty much anticipated somewhat of a let down. Its hard to make a ridiculously stealthy video game into an action movie. Just from the trailer I could tell that they were leaning more towards triple x than collateral. I am a huge fan of the game but most the time your mission was to kill someone collect some intelligence and leave unnoticed. From what I saw in the teaser most of his weapons were not silenced. Also this actors voice makes 47 seem too human and like you said less coldblooded. The only reason I’m going to watch this movie is because it still looks good plus I hear most of his kills are pretty planned out.
